What is FDA Compliant?

FDA Compliant is the process in which 3A Sanitary and USDA Dairy Division Standards are not required for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  

3A or USDA pumps are required for pumping of the finished product but that's a very small portion of the market.  An FDA compliant pump can generally be used to pump ingredients into the process before the final product is created. For instance; an FDA compliant pump could pump ketchup out of a 55 gallon drum to add as an ingredient in the making of Sloppy Joe.

Yamada pumps are designed and constructed of FDA compliant materials and meet the certification requirements for use in the Food, Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Industries.

These pumps include 316 Stainless Steel wetted components with Passivated Satin Finish, PTFE-Coated Air Motor, Sanitary Clamp Fittings, and FDA compliant elastomers of Hytrel®, EPDM and PTFE.

Pilot Valve

Unique to the Yamada design is an individual modular pilot valve that actuates the air valve. It is depressed slightly by the inner center disk creating a pressure drop at one end of the air valve, allowing shifting to occur. It is maintenance free with no cumbersome snap rings or lubricated dynamic o-rings to replace or repair.
